A Friday Post about Telling Stories
Hiya all
This weekend I’ll be headed on to Glasgow to enjoy Saturday at FantasyCon. I’m looking forward to catching up with all the incredible writers I know, including but not limited to: Ruth Booth, Neil Williamson, Brian Milton, Georgina Bruce, Francesca T Barbini, E.M. Faulds, Shona Kinsella, and whoever else is going and I happen to bump into/hunt down.
If you’re there, say hi. I am shockingly face-blind and name-stupid at the best of times, so give me a reminder so I can put things together in my lentil-sized brain.
Over on my Patreon, I am posting a story about stories, and how I’m free-writing this particular beast into shape. It’s technically a retelling of Rapunzel (as recounted by dead people to the living), though it uses both the original and the retelling of it as a motif to write anther story. If that kind of thing makes you go ooh hmmm, then come join us there for only $1 a month.
In personal news, I’ve become *weirdly* into synchro skating this past week. Mainly because it’s the nerdiest, geekiest, glammest, most OTT thing ever, and in skating, that’s saying something. I’ve been rewarding myself with little snatches of the ISU junior worlds because rewarding myself with chocolate is probably a bad idea. While I’m sure a grand total of no one will join me in my new weird obsession, imma leave you with Team Crystal Ice Junior, because we all need gothy girls doing amazing things in perfect unison to make our lives complete. (well, I do, anyway.)
Until next time
