And it's a draft(s)!
Finished the copy-edits for Monsters Book 1, and the submission draft for Book 2.
collapses
Gonna call them wins, baby.
I cannot force myself to look at the incredibly shitty news in Scotland today, so I'm just drinking red wine and wallowing in the kind of music that makes me wish I was propping up the bar in a smoky dark establishment somewhere where the beer is cold and outside the tar is melting under a limitless blue sky.
I'm also FREAKING out
(hence the drinking) about tomorrow morning's flight to Belfast because I didn't think I'd need a visa, but there have been fuck ups lol. (Not lol).
Anyway, if I don't make Eastercon because of UK Passport office shenanigans, I will definitely be day drinking all weekend.
I do have good news though!
I'm supposed to be doing readings at Eastercon, and I joked to E.M. Faulds that I should just do a reading from Shadow Jack because no one is taking that 13k fucker about altar boys and their uh... relationships with elder gods.
ANYWAY, apparently I am wrong, because I just got an acceptance for that, which is nice because a) it was a hell of an acceptance letter and b) i fucking love that story.
SUBMIT SUBMIT
I also, thanks to horror writer Gideon (Gregory Lawrence), subbed a story to what looks like an interesting new SA-based market - The Pink Hydra (pay is pretty much token, but their vibe is my jammmmm, and I am a firm believer in making choices for moral as much as monetary reasons if you can.)
AAAANYWAY
I'm off to go drink red wine and listen to Billy Bragg and Wilco sing songs by Woody Guthrie. Because fuck fascists.
