New Stories in Print, and Life on the (B)rink
Summer seems to have finally remembered that Scotland exists, so we had two days of sun, with temps in the 19s. It was great. Now it’s overcast again, but I have high hopes hahaha. I am nothing if not an optimistic fool.
After a long weekend spent soaking in the creative juices of other writers over the Cymera Festival (online still, but hopefully next year we will be back to meat space), I felt re-energised with my writing.
I am deep in edits for my book for Luna Press, and querying another work, and writing and redrafting new stories, so the gears are still catching teeth somewhere in my brain.
I am also part of this final anthology edited by the late Storm Constantine, Shadows on the Hillside.
Like Tanith Lee and Freda Warrington, she was one of those writers who captured a certain decadent, gothic queer fantasy style that has influenced me greatly, so although it is a very sad thing, I am still honoured to be part of this collection. Even more so when I see the other names attached. It’s an absolute feast.
Do yourself a favour and pre order your copy, and read stories by Storm Constantine, Freda Warrington, Kari Sperring, Nerine Dorman, Liz Williams, and a host of others.
In rink news, I still don’t have a home rink, so I am drifting about. I have finally found one that allows spins and jumps on proficient ice, so although it’s a trek, I think I’ll go there hopefully once a week. Yaaaay!
